The facilities describe in this writeup are not correct!

First of all, this campground has been closed for the past three years (as of 3/09). However it appears that the Corp of Engineers will be opening it this year. As I type, there are guys out there weed-wacking, and generally starting to get ready to open. I asked this morning and did not receive an opening date, but 1-April 2009 seems promising.

This campground has 15 sites, two primitive tent sites. The rest small RV sites with water and electric. Some 50 amp. There is a dump station. There's a small bath house, which is closed, so I can't tell you what's in it. I can't believe it contains 8 of anything!! More like one shower and one or two toilets on each side. I'm sure there's no washer/drier. There's a boat launch, and a not-very great swim beach. There's no picnic pavilion and no childrens play area. The photo of the picnic pavilion and lawn are not at Upper Stamp Creek.

It is a lovely campground, and worth a visit. Its undoubtedly great for a small RV or tent. A larger RV (30-40 ft) will probably fit ok in at least several of the sites. There's a fairly steep hill down to the sites.

Fishing appears to be very good.
