Bass fishing is decent. Fish are starting their summer pattern full bore and starting to move deeper and deeper. Most of the fish I am finding are either in the main lake or at the mouth of the creeks. There is a lot of movement right now. One day they are there the next day they move. It's a daily thing to stay on the fish. Just keep moving until you find the concentrations of fish. Right now the magic depth is 15 to 18 feet. I am catching a select few in 30 feet but most are quite a bit shallower. Fish the bluff walls and deep brush with shaky head type baits and/or drop shot. The spot tail bite is also hot and cold depending on if you are on a concentration of fish. Keep your head down and cover some water until you find the fish. Don't rely on those fish to be in the same area the next day. Nothing is predictable right now.
Line sides fishing is good and the mid lake is producing the best right now by far. But there is starting to be good afternoon bite at the dam on live bait and umbrella rigs. Down lines are producing better then anything else right now. Shad, shiners and bream are all working. Just remember the bream have to be caught on a hook and line. I have caught fish as far as Allatoona Pass on the south end of the lake and as far North as Little River. But mid lake still seems to be the strongest bite going. The Mack Farr umbrella rig with 7, 1/2 ounce jigs have been working best for me. Summer is here and fishing is getting hot. Grab a kid and let’s go fishing.
